One court. Two sports. More opportunities for Sint Maarten.
A New Multi-Sport Facility
In partnership with RebuildSXM, a new dual-function basketball and netball structure has been installed at the Dutch Quarter Community Court on Sint Maarten. This upgrade expands access to sports facilities and creates more opportunities for residents to stay active, connect, and develop their athletic skills.
One Court, Two Sports
The new structure features a rotating basketball hoop, allowing the court to accommodate both basketball and netball. As netball continues to grow in popularity across the island, this flexible solution helps meet the community’s evolving sporting needs. With this addition, Dutch Quarter becomes the island’s second community to have an official netball venue.
Supporting Local Youth and Education
The upgraded facility also provides Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School with a nearby space for its team to practise, train, and sharpen their skills. By making sports facilities more accessible, the project supports student development, encourages physical activity, and creates opportunities for young athletes to grow through teamwork and competition.
Building Stronger Communities Through Partnership
This initiative demonstrates how collaboration can create meaningful, lasting benefits for local communities. Through its partnership, the project contributes to a more inclusive sporting environment on Sint Maarten, where residents and young athletes can access facilities that support participation, development, and community connection.
